|Emblem Specialty License Plates|
32-5-167. Emblem specialty plates listed. Any owner of a motor vehicle may apply for an emblem specialty plate if the owner meets the requirements of §§ 32-5-168 to 32-5-178. The available emblem specialty plates are as follows:
|Apply||Individuals can view a complete list of approved nonprofits by using the Organization Decal Guide. (The guides are available in print form at all county treasurer offices.) The guide also provides a sample of the decal and a contact name for each entity.
If acquired during your regular renewal period, there is not an additional application or fee outside of your regular registration fees. If the plate is aquired outside of your renewal period, there is an additional $10 fee.
The entity is responsible for determining who qualifies for the decal and the fee to be charged. The entity is also responsible for the administration and issuance of the decals. Individuals are not required to have their entity decal on their plates before placing them on their automobile.
Emblem specialty License Plates are different than regular plates because they have a 3" x 3" square space designated for the decals.
Upon sale or transfer of a vehicle bearing emblem specialty plates that display an emblem specialty decal, the plates shall remain with the owner and may be transferred to another vehicle, upon approval by the department.
