The Department of Revenue's mission is to serve South Dakota by providing fair, efficient, and reliable revenue administration with our partners to help fund public service statewide.
The focus of our department is to serve South Dakotans and to support government services. We do that by collecting taxes, supporting motor vehicle requirements, and regulating the gaming industry and state’s lottery to raise revenue for important programs. This is accomplished by providing taxpayers with current and complete information, education programs, and up-to-date technology to support tax filings, payments and motor vehicle registration.
Providing excellent service to the taxpayers of our great state is our number one priority. We are pleased to offer our skills and will continue to make progress while always promoting efficiency.
